Summary in English
Today is the last part of our trip southward. I had not anticipated that our daughter-in-law, Tori, would take an interest in my blog update of the “Young Pups”, it having been the main blog for Frank’s trip around Australia, but then, I shouldn’t have advertised the matter in my personal blog “Glaginye”, should I? :-)
The initial idea was to travel southward, but we didn’t have a clear plan. We wanted to be free if something else came up, without having to disappoint the grandkids if we wouldn’t make it after all. But then, it’s school holidays and we really wanted to try and get to Melbourne to see the family, because otherwise we would have to wait till December, which is a long, long time.
At the moment we’re approx. two hours away from Melbourne, so we hope it will be a nice surprise for the grandkids when we turn up unexpectedly.
It’s still fairly cold, but at least the sun is shining again. The last few days it’s mainly been very overcast so there wasn’t a real incentive to hang around. It would’ve been different if we would’ve been able to get the chairs out and get settled for a while under the awning. So, for that reason we left straight away again this morning after having taken a few pictures. We left a 8:45am and only stopped for fuel intake and a quick cuppa. We don’t know if we’re going to stop for lunch or not. It all depends what time we’ll arrive. That could be at around half past one according to our GPS.
In the meantime I am updating my log in the campervan and I also want to work out the coordinates of the various stops so far. Later on I want to look them up in Google Earth, because I like to be able to work out the whole trip and have something to look back to. For me it’s an alternative to scrapbooking…
We’re on our last 100kms of the trip. We’ve just had a short lunch break at rest area #260 (Mangalore) and now I’d better finish this posting. Pictures will follow later, because I don’t have the camera handy. Till next update.
