Morgenvroeg gaan we weer rijden. Waar naar toe? Nog steeds geen idee. Waar de weg ons brengt....
English version
Although the weather is really nice during the day, the nights are still a bit cool. However, we have taken sufficient bedding with us to keep ourselves warm, and with Misty sneaking under the blankets it’s even better.
In the morning we got up rather early and Kevin arrived not much later. After a cuppa we decided to get started, because we only had the Saturday to do some work. Kevin had done a fair bit of work on the walls, which incidentally he had started all over again. At first he had put up 3mm MDF, but didn’t like it. Instead he bought timber slats (the tongue-and-groove sort) and started again. I have to say, it not only looks better, but also more ‘homely’. While he was working on the walls Frank started on the taps in the bathroom, which had to be moved more towards to front (for technical reasons unknown to me). In the meantime I have polished the new removable timber floor of the bathroom in the campervan with beeswax. Frank has made a new one, because the old one was too small and the toilet moved from left to right and back at every corner we took. Now it’s stable and in its proper place and the floor looks quite nice.
When it comes to building Kevin is quite like me when I am building dolls’ houses. He doesn’t work from detailed plans, it just grows. I recognize that! Hence his request: “Mum, could you work out a wall for me? I want it just there and probably a door just there….” No problem, son! It wasn’t going to be a load bearing wall, so no technical problems and I worked out the design and the necessary timber in no time. And since Frank had finished his job on the taps and I can handle carpentry tools nowadays, we could start straightaway.
At the end of the afternoon, after lunch and several cups of coffee, quite a number of jobs had been finished and we decided to treat ourselves to dinner at the local pub.
When we came ‘home’ from dinner Misty was happy to see us again and we finished the day with a little ‘nightcap’. Tomorrow morning we’ll resume our trip. Where to? I have no idea. Where the road will lead us, I guess…
